Dewdrop Ridge+
On a late March day we parked just off the Frederick Road in the Dewdrop Range and we hiked off-trail, up to the crest of Dewdrop Ridge. We enjoyed the wide views on the east end, then continued west along the top of the ridge. At the west end we hiked down the ridge to cross the Battle Bluff Trail, then again climbed the ridge off trail, following the open crest to the end. From there, we wound down and over to pickup the Bluebird Trail back to the start.
Some of the best views in our area can be enjoyed on Dewdrop Ridge. This landscape view looks southeast to Cooney Bay and the Thompson River Estuary.
contAt the east end of Dewdrop Ridge we can see down Kamloops Lake toward Six Mile Point.
There are no trails up or down the ridge, but there is a single track on the top of the eastern ridge. There are many viewpoints along the way, the route is either on grassland slopes or in open forests, and there are a number of interesting rocky landforms along the route. the Bluebird Trail is an enjoyable single track, running east-west, paralleling Frederick Road, itself an interesting hike.
