Roche Lake Provincial Park has a number of campsites, lakes and trails.

Driving Directions:

  • Drive Highway 5A South.    Pass Shumway Lake, then turn left onto Roche Lake Road.
  • Continue up the road to the end of the maintained road at Roch Lake Provincial Park.
  • The trailhead area is 36 km southeast of Kamloops.

Trailhead(s):

  • The main trailhead area is at the north campground.
  • With a high clearance or 4WD  vehicle other parts of the park can be used as trailheads.

Trails:

  • Most of the trails in the park are informal.
  • There is a good route that goes to Black Lake, then to Bog Lake, and Ernest Lake.   A track connects to John Frank Lake and back to Roche Lake.   This loop route requires some navigation.
  • There are trail routes that go to Frisken Lake, then Bulman Lake and with some navigation back to John Frank Lake.
  • Backroads can be used as routes too.   The Smith Lake Road, the road to Roche Lake West, the BC Hydro Line track, and the Bleeker Lake Road can be used for hiking, biking, or access to lakes.
  • A favorite route is Black Lake – Bog Lake – Ernest Lake – John Frank Lake – Roche Lake Loop, a km route.
