Othello Tunnels
The Othello Tunnels were once part of the Kettle Valley Railway, as the trains went through a narrow canyon by the Coquihalla River. The railway was decommissioned in 1961 and became a hiking route. In 1986 the route became part of Othello Tunnels Provincial Park. We have walked the Othello Tunnels many times over the years, we returned to enjoy the route on a smoky day in August. An image gallery features some of the highlights. Click an image for a full-sized view.
Note – The park is under reconstruction following the flooding events.
Great shots ,thank you for your eforts.Have you ever seen any potholes in the river rocks?I have seen then inmany rivers in northern Quebec. One was twisting as it went down 16 feet .And it had gold in the bottom.
Thanks, tony. We have seen the bored holes, especially when the rock is soft and the canyon is narrow. Cheers…
