On Top of Mauna Kea — 1 Comment

  1. This brings back memories for me. My father and I hiked the 10 km trail way back in 1964, well before there was any observatory installations. At the time, there was a cabin to sleep in the night before the ascent. We started very early and were lucky to have good weather for the hike, but I remember stiff winds. We went crazy taking pictures of the brightly coloured cinder cones. It is such a striking and beautiful landscape.
