We hiked to the top of Frosty Mountain in Manning Park on a fine day.   At the top we enjoyed the views and took some photos.   By matching photos to maps and GPS/compass bearings we were able to identify the mountains in the distance in each direction.

Looking northwest, Skyline Ridge (another fine hike) was only 5 km away.    The peaks behind were all in the north end of the Hozameen Range, part of the Cascade Mountains.

To the immediate south is the Canada – US border with rugged Castle Peak at 8306 feet.

Farther to the south are peaks in North Cascades National Park.    Jack Peak is 26 km away at a bearing of 200 degrees.

To the southeast is the Pasayten Wilderness and the route of the Pacific Crest Trail into Canada.

Standing only 13 km away are the forbidding spires of Hozomeen Mountain, rising above the eastern side of Ross Lake.

On the next day we hiked the Heather Trail to the summit of Third Brother Mountain.   The Four Brothers stand above the meadows 18 km to the north.

The hike to the top of Frosty and back was a long day (22 km).   We stopped on top for lunch and to take some photos, a short time during a long hike.   After two long hikes in Manning Park it took some time to recover, but it is wonderful to have the photos to revisit the views on top once again.
