Cache Creek Hills
The northeast side of Cache Creek rises gently with treeless slopes, then higher to aspen habitat, and forest up high on the way to the southwester end of the Arrowstone Hills. Double tracks lead off through the hills. Drive up Stage Road and turn off any road bearing north. The main route is off Stanley Parke Boulevard. Park at the end of the road and start uphill. Tracks lead in many directions and I chose to run most of them.
This would be a blazing hot area in summer, but in the shoulder seasons, it is a quiet, scenic area for a walk/bike/hike/run. While on the tracks, I carried a GPS and used the built in camera to capture some photos.
Although this is not a destination trail area, if you are in transit or in the area, enjoy the hills above Cache Creek.
