Anderson Creek Snow Stomp
On a sunny mid-February day I turned off the Lac le Jeune Road and drove down the Goose Lake Road to a parking area used to snowshoe the Hull Hill Trails (N50 33.475 W120 25.749). There are no trails per se in the area, but we can combine old double tracks and user-made single tracks for either out-and-back or loop routes. For this day, I followed a double track west, then turned east through a cutblock, then followed a single track across Anderson Creek and up to the old Booth homestead). From there I did some off-trail stomping and then joined the main double track back to the start.
I followed some stomped-in tracks and made some of my own. There are some stands of older douglas fir trees near the creek that I detoured to enjoy.
The old Jack Booth Homestead is collapsing over time. Here is an interesting story on it – Jack Booth Homestead
This is a favorite area to snowshoe every winter. It is always quiet and there are few people who know the routes, but over the winter some tracks get stomped in. There are some wider double tracks for first-timers, but over time you can follow other tracks to link up trails for a loop route. I will be back for another hike in the area this year.
